Twisted Reflection

Mental panoramic of a .. once upon
Held illusion of a .. should have been
Faded hologram of that .. oasis mirage

It's vexing how we often want to hold on to everything that we never had yet throw away once in hand.

Still waiting for the .. what's to come
To distracted by the .. what almost was
Knowing full well what I .. should have done

You see, our past is existing proof that every decision we make changes our whole future path and event. What many never learn to do is reflect, and then move on rather than repeating or standing still. Full aware that the next step .. every step effects what ground we have before us after that.

Even when presented with a mirror image of what didn't come, we must still move on... knowing what never was.
Sometimes... we have to give up a dream... to live out the next. Or remain there in the remnants forever.

" and it was said that the legacy was short lived, that his destiny had found it's ends as all surveyed faded away. The mossy castle walls crumbled into dust and rubble leaving only the shields and swords of the gate guards half buried and a single thrown open to the elements. His place to set and ponder eternity, staring out into nothing whilst the dust settled and collected within the aging creases of his face.

A traveler once claimed that if one approached him and looked into the gaze what could be seen a view of what once was in the emotionless stare and described it as the "land of the endless midnight star". A place just at the edge of reality illuminated without an apparent source yet cold and dark. And claimed to see it recurring within his own dreams and nightmares, another world so real yet non existent . "
